Hi, I’m Dr. Jen Abrackzinskas.
Jen Abraczinskas, MD is a family and integrative medicine physician whose passion is caring for her patients in a way that fits their goals and purpose in life. She is from Catawissa, PA - headquarters of Spring & Spruce - where she grew up on a Christmas Tree Farm and learned how nature impacts our well-being from a young age. On her journey as a physician, she learned by listening that true healing happens in a holistic manner and most recently completed a fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona to better serve her patients. She's looking forward to bringing this approach of empowering behaviors, natural approaches and the finest in evidence based medicine to bring healing and health optimization to individuals, families, and communities.
She attended college at La Salle University where she studied Chemistry and Leadership and Global Understanding before entering Medical School at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. As she recognized that the health system was complex, she spent a year of service completing home visits for individuals with complex physical, mental and social health issues with the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers.
After completing medical school, she was a resident physician at the University of Pennsylvania where she completed her residency in Family Medicine. She also participated in the Healthcare Quality and Leadership Track. She particularly loved delivering babies, caring for pregnant moms and children, counseling individuals with mental health concerns, and finding patient strengths to solve health problems.
From 2016-2022, she served as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and family medicine physician with Cooper University Health System in Southern New Jersey. She continues as a volunteer faculty member at CMSRU and the Cooper Family Medicine Residency.
In 2021, she completed a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine with the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.
She founded Spring & Spruce in 2022.
Dr. Jen has a beautiful family including husband, Dave, and 4 wonderfully lively children — the newest addition arrived in May 2023. They love spending time in nature especially on hikes in the mountains and sandy times at the beach. Her children like to be known as "water dogs" because once they start swimming, it's hard to stop them. She has the wonderful support of her parents on the farm, sisters, extended family and friends in this fun endeavor seen as a family mission of bringing more health, well-being, and joy to other families.
